• Week 13 Preview

Three games this week, each featuring teams whose seasons have gone in different directions.

    Doncaster Mustangs (4-2) @  Merseyside Nighthawks (1-4) - Division 1 North
While the Nighthawks may statistically still be in the playoff race they are more likely looking at the Senators ahead and the Titans behind. A win would be helpful and lessen their odds of relegation come the end of the year. Doncaster meanwhile can't afford a loss, they lie behind East Kilbride and Yorkshire in the division by a single game. They are currently sitting in the 8th and final playoff spot in Division 1, a win would do wonders for them.

    Cornish Sharks (4-2) @  Bournemouth Bobcats (2-4) -  Division 2 West
The Bobcats are looking up at the Sharks feeling they can catch them before the year is out. If they are to break out of fourth they need a win against the Sharks as their nearest rivals. The Sharks meanwhile are looking up at South Wales and a potential playoff spot and need to win three of their last four. This weekend would be a great start in that run.

    Highland Wildcats (1-4) @  Dundee Hurricanes (5-2) - Division 2 North
Like the other two games we have one team fighting to stave off the bottom of their division and one team fighting to stay in the playoff race. Dundee currently sit P7 in Division 2 and need another win to improve their chances of staying there. The Wildcats have a chance to catch Edinburgh for fifth in division due to having played two fewer games than their rivals.

My attention was drawn to the game on Sunday between the DC Presidents and the Crewe Railroaders associate teams. The Presidents have a strong squad of about 60 while Crewe have slightly fewer. I was told I can say whatever I want about the game but personally I just wish each team the best as they look to enter the league next year and hope many will turn up to cheer them on at Durham on Sunday.

The big match this weekend though is the EFAF Final at Finsbury Park on Saturday afternoon. The league hopes that as many fans as possible make their way to the home of the London Blitz to support them as they represent Britain against the Kragujevac Wild Boars.
I'll be there and you should be too.
